Türkiye’s First Rechargeable Hybrid Car, New Toyota C-HR, Hits the Road with FALKEN

Toyota Automotive Industry Türkiye (TMMT) Started New C-HR Production.

Toyota Automotive Industry Türkiye has been operating in its facility in Adapazarı since 1994, exporting most of its production to more than 30 countries in Europe. Toyota Türkiye, which produces the Corolla and C-HR models, supplies tires to these two models with Sumitomo Rubber Group's Dunlop and Falken brands.

The launch ceremony of the new Toyota C-HR, the first rechargeable hybrid (PHEV) car produced in Türkiye, was held on November 4, 2023, with the participation of the Minister of Industry and Technology, Mr. Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

The Falken brand was chosen as the factory standard for the new C-HR with the ZIEX ZE310 pattern and the size 225/55R18 98V. The new C-HR will hit the road with this new tire designed and developed by Falken engineers specifically for the C-HR.

The second generation new C-HR will be produced by Toyota Automotive Industry Türkiye in Sakarya. Consisting of hybrid and rechargeable versions, the new C-HR will be the first rechargeable hybrid car produced in Türkiye. Toyota Automotive Industry Türkiye will produce the rechargeable C-HR in its factory in Türkiye for the first time in the world and will be the first factory among Toyota's factories in Europe to produce rechargeable cars. The factory in Sakarya will host another first, the first battery production line in the Toyota European region will be established in Sakarya. The new C-HR is expected to make a significant contribution to Toyota's goal of selling 1.5 million cars in Europe by 2025.

Mr. Toshihiko Komatsu, The CEO of Sumitomo Rubber AKO attended the off-line ceremony upon invitation of Toyota Türkiye and spoke after the event.
